Bearing bush temperature abnormal increase at petrochemical PTA expansion machine

The customer is a PTA production company wholly-owned by one of China’s top 500 companies. It currently has an annual PTA production capacity of 1.2 million tons. A total of 4 sets Siemens compressor units are used in the first and second phases.

Customer pain points

In October 2018, after maintenance and repair, it was found that the secondary bearing temperature of the Phase I B linear expansion machine was too high; around New Year’s Day in 2019, it began to rise slowly for unknown reasons; at the end of March 2019, it began to rise relatively quickly; in mid-April 2019, The bearing temperature has reached 123°C, which is only 2°C away from the interlocking parking protection value of 125°C. It is suspected that the temperature rise may be caused by carbon deposition on the bearing varnish.

Solution

In order to solve the problem of rising tile temperature, the customer compared the mainstream oil purifier technologies on the market and finally put into use a varnish removal oil purifier that combines WSD’s electrostatic adsorption and ionic resin technology in July 2019.

Overview

One week after the customer put into use the WSD varnish removal unit, the bearing temperature began to drop slowly, the equipment was running well. The bearing temperature dropped from 123°C to a minimum of 108°C, quickly helping the customer resolve the risk of production line shutdown, subsequently During the operation, the customer’s expected goals were achieved, and 4 sets varnish removal unit were subsequently purchased and put into use in other units.
