Steam & Gas Turbines: Removes dissolved and suspended varnish from turbine oil, helping reduce bearing temperature fluctuations and maintain stable lubrication performance.
Centrifugal Compressors: Suitable for ethylene, propylene, process gas, air and refrigeration compressors where varnish, sludge and oil oxidation products can affect bearings and control systems.
Petrochemical & Chemical Plants: Designed for critical rotating equipment in petrochemical, coal chemical and chemical processing applications with high-speed and high-load operating conditions.
Power & Air Separation Systems: Provides continuous online purification for turbine and compressor lubrication systems, helping control oil cleanliness, MPC levels and varnish deposition.
Typical oils: ISO VG 32 and ISO VG 46 turbine oils.
Centrifugal compressors operate at high speed and high load, making their lubrication systems highly sensitive to oil oxidation and varnish formation.
As lubricant degradation products accumulate, dissolved varnish can precipitate and deposit on bearings, oil passages and control components, leading to higher bearing temperatures, temperature fluctuations, restricted oil flow and increased wear.
The WVD Varnish Removal Oil Purifier combines electrostatic adsorption to remove suspended varnish, sludge and fine contaminants with ion-exchange resin to remove dissolved varnish precursors.
By continuously reducing oil contamination and MPC levels, the WVD helps maintain cleaner lubricant, limit further varnish deposition and support stable operation of critical centrifugal compressor systems.
WVD varnish removal systems have been applied in petrochemical, refining, coal chemical and air separation plants to solve problems such as high MPC values, poor oil cleanliness, bearing temperature fluctuations and varnish deposits.
In documented field applications, the WVD-II reduced thrust bearing temperature from 118°C by 28°C within 6 days at one petrochemical plant, while another compressor application saw the maximum bearing temperature decrease from 106°C to 90°C after 37 days of operation.
